This is for Gilbert
Hello all! I wanted to share this really awesome story my buddy Miji and i experienced while doing a +9 Windrunner Spire. We joined in LFG and the group leader was a mage named Gilbert. Gave us a heads up that this key was originally a 10, but that it was bricked. He also said he was bad (which he was not). Myself and Miji then said "Don't worry this will be timed and will turn into a 10 once again." We also had a pair duo of a resto druid and a warlock in this key. I was tanking as blood.
As the dungeon went on we were all committed to timing this +9 for Gilbert. Sop much so that even if he died I would blame Miji for his death, and he blamed be back. The druid and warlock even were razzing each other for letting Gilbert die (even if he died to a circle, it was never his fault.) And even every time he died we would just shout "NO NOT GILBERT" or "BLIZZARD CAN'T KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH THIS, GILBERT DOESN'T DEVERVE IT!!" Even if i died on a pull that i went a little to hard on as long as Gilbert was alive, vibes were high.
After the key was completed with plenty of time, he then thanked us for being really friendly, and outgoing. The last group he was in said awful things to him so this made his day a little brighter.
I hope I run into you Gilbert. If this reddit post finds its way back to you, know that I will always remember that dungeon run. Vibes were so high, and you gave me faith in the WOW community. Thank you all for taking the time to read this.
