Too clean? (Not a flex)
Hey Everyone,
I picked up this Elgin for $50 on Ebay. When it arrived I was struck by how clean it is. I'm new to the vintage watch world, so I'm wondering if y'all think it is a redial, over polished, or just well cared for. Thanks!
UPDATE: Thanks for all your input. I did a little digging now that I know it is a recase. It seems like it was probably put together by a jeweler in the 40s or 50s as a cheaper and more robust option in stainless rather than plated Elgin factory options. I guess they would buy movements and dials and put them in cases like this. It makes it less valuable but more wearable. I still really like it and Im taking it as a learning opportunity!
