Hi all, as the title says, I'm looking for suggestions and recommendations with upgrading my setup.
At the moment I'm still running an EOS 77D with an EF70-300mm ƒ4-5.6 IS USM as a lens, as I've been doing since 2017.
My primary and regular use for this is sports photography - specifically horse shows (showjumping primarily, so high speed and with not much time for setup in harsh light conditions/deep shadows).
I've reached a point where I feel like my current camera is just a bit outdated and outmatched (photo for evidence/example - this is about the best I'm getting with the conditions I'm in). As soon as I've a little more distance involved in my shots I'm finding them to be a bit washed out and lacking crispness.

I have zero interest in any other feature or capability beyond suitability for sports photography in the relatively harsh conditions I'm in. I try to baby my camera but I can't say it's never going to get a couple of splashes of rain on it and it's definitely going to encounter a lot of dust and heat, so models infamous for being fragile might be out of the question.

I've seen a few suggestions for the R7, any thoughts on that body? As far as I've seen it should be compatible with my lens, really can't justify a new camera and lens right now.
Equally open to better suggestions so long as I can stick in that budget range (up to 2000 euros absolute maximum).

Thanks in advance!!
