I, f22, cook and serve at a small local restaurant. About 5 times a day, instead of asking for extra napkins, utensils, sauces, etc people just kind of state the word like “napkins?” and I understand that they are requesting what they need but I just find it rude sometimes. What time are you saving by not saying “could i please have some” or “where are the” or literally anything more than just stating a noun and staring at me? I am probably putting too much thought into it but it has gotten more frequent and it’s all definitely from the above 45 crowd, and I do truly feel that they don’t mean to be rude or anything but like ughhhh just ask for what you need instead of just stating a thing and staring please.
