US Passport Processing Timeline for Renewal

Hi y’all, I used this forum recently to check on processing timelines for a US passport and just wanted to add my data point for reference.

I qualified to renew a 10-year adult passport online, didn’t pay for expedited processing.

Got a new photo taken and submitted on 5/4/2026. Received email confirmation of acceptance on 5/5. Received USPS shipping notification on 5/8 from the Hot Springs AR passport office (I am in CA so not sure why it went to that office) and email confirmarion of application approval on 5/9. New passport is out for delivery today!

So that is about a week from start to finish, which is wild. Hope this helps anyone who has been on the fence about applying.

Hi all, I have been lurking the sub for a few weeks now while I have been researching a digital watch purchase, and wanted to share my thoughts on the Baby-G I ended up with in case it helps anyone else.

As background, I am new to watches but have always loved the G-shock as the quintessential watch of my childhood. So, my first Casio purchase was the base model 5600. Loved the look, loved the functions. However, I learned quickly that despite having a larger wrist circumference for my size (6.75”) I actually do not have a lot of flat real estate on the top of my wrist to fit a larger watch comfortably. The 5600 dug into my wrist because the case was sadly just too wide.

So, I decided to look at the Baby-G line and ultimately decided on the BGD-10 series because-

- 42.8 mm x 39 mm case size fits great on my wrist. Shape is also I think recognizable as having G-shock DNA but a slightly modern take.

- Has all the basic functions of other G-shock watches. Yes, it has a slightly less water resistance rating (10Bar) and shorter battery life (3 years) but practically for my daily life this is just fine, especially at this sub $100 price point.

- Has a NATO strap configuration. Yes, it makes the watch a bit taller (14.7 mm) but it fits fine under my cuffs. I also find resin straps pretty uncomfortable (the 5600 strap is a nightmare imho) so I love I can swap this one out for any standard 20 mm NATO with no fuss.

- A dark color was available. I am not a pastels person in the slightest. As a note though, websites advertise this model as black, but you can clearly see in the photos it is a very dark blue. I like it, but if you want black it’s not available right now. Also, the Baby-G branding is barely visible if you find the name cringe.

- Has an easily legible postive display. The BGD-565 (which looks closest to the 5600 case shape) black case only comes with the negative display in the US. When I tried it in person I could hardly make it out unless viewed straight on, so a hard pass for me. (I also think the little animations that show at the 30-second marks are quirky and cute, not gonna lie.)

I included pictures of the heart case charm accessory, too. I don’t know if I will ever use it, but I do think it is a neat bonus. The charm itself is a very thick and sturdy resin (not hollow), and the plastic plate in the back is also substantial, not flimsy at all. I would not worry about the watch being damaged or lost while in the charm unless you were doing something crazy, in which case you probably would have damaged it anyway.

Overall, this Baby-G watch is a nice and sturdy sub $100 watch for those who need a smaller case. I think the dark color is unisex enough for anyone to wear comfortably.
