Blackstone will be getting a major facelift as the city has approved a complete remodel of the city's most dangerous corridor.
The city will remove 2 of the 4 lanes on each side and replace it with a walking and biking paradise. The city has released the above designs as an example of how Blackstone will look soon. They already have started planting trees.
This is a major upgrade and win for cyclists who rely on Blackstone to commute to work. Unfortunately, as of now, Blackstone is so dangerous, it forces most cyclists to take a long detour rather than risk death with speeding cars who use Blackstone as a shortcut rather than taking the freeway.
Soon, Blackstone will look and feel like Van Ness! A major win for progress in Fresno.
