I’ve been a tire tech for a while in college and the machines say of course “never exceed 40psi seating beads” but we all know there are stubborn as hell tires, that even when you generously lube the beads they just won’t pop until 70-90 psi. And of course, I’ve done this numerous times. But I was just thinking. When am I putting my life at risk? Am I just extremely lucky? Or are the maximums very conservative?
