I was following a video tutorial from Craftworld which helped to identify where to put highlights, or brighter areas. But I made upfront a reference BW photo with concentrated (lightly forward tilted zenital) light, and comparing that to the tutorial it looks off.
What I mostly struggle is to transport the theoretical knowledge (got couple of books that talk about reflections, reflective materials etc) onto the models' surfaces.
Also, when putting this guy on the desk, it does not really "shine". This is not my first piece of NMM just to put the level here, but so far, they only look convincing with a black backdrop ... and even then.
So hit me up with your ideas, feedback (any), how to improve this one or in general for NMM.
