I was recently diagnosed with stage 2 lipedema after years of pain, confusion, and not understanding what was happening to my body.
My doctor has been quite clear that surgery is currently the only option that can significantly improve my condition and quality of life. However, my insurance only covers surgery for stage 4 lipedema, which leaves me in a very difficult situation despite already having significant symptoms.
I’ve recently created a GoFundMe while trying to figure out my options and next steps.
I don’t really have family or friends I can rely on for support, so I’m also trying to understand how people in similar situations manage to gain visibility and awareness around their situation.
If anyone here has experience with this condition or with sharing a personal fundraiser in a respectful way, I would really appreciate any advice on how to increase visibility or reach the right communities.
