Hey all,
I got my first beautiful ragdoll 2 weeks ago, he is now 15 weeks. He has settled in so well and we are absolutely obsessed with him. He is on a raw diet and has been since he started feeding and he loves it. We mix a fair amount of water with mince - 200ml for every 500g and I also add another 10-20ml to every 100-150g meal I put out (usually two or three times a day). I have not once seen him have water from his bowl. He is weeing in his litter box several times a day. Should I be concerned that he is not drinking enough water? He doesn’t seem dehydrated or showing any negative symptoms but I’ve never had a cat before and I know cats are prone to kidney disease so I want to make sure he is healthy. Any thoughts or ideas?
Also, we love him so much that I am considering getting a second kitten now(ish) to keep him entertained. My husband works from home but the last few days it seems like he is getting a little bored. He is an indoor cat only and I play with him for good chunks of time everyday when I’m home but my husband is able to do that with his job. If I were to get him a little friend should I get another kitten now so they can grow up together or wait until he is a bit older? ALSO I am 26w pregnant 😂 so I’m worried I won’t be able to give two kittens as much attention as they’d like once baby comes. But then that could also mean if we have two they could play with each other more to keep each other company.. Final question, should I get another boy or a girl for his friend?
