Hi everyone,

I'm experiencing an issue with Le Mans Ultimate after the recent April update. The game was running flawlessly on CachyOS until then, but now it fails to launch/run properly. Environment details:

Distro: CachyOS (Broken) vs. ZorinOS (Working) Proton Version: GE-Proton10-34-LMU-hid_fixes (Same version used on both systems) Hardware: Ryzen 7 5700X + RX 6600 XT

I've confirmed it works perfectly on ZorinOS using the exact same Proton configuration, so it seems related to a specific package change in the latest CachyOS rolling release.

I'm happy to provide logs (Proton logs or inxi) to help the team restore compatibility. Let me know which ones you need!

Hey everyone! I’ve recently moved my main sim racing setup over to Linux, and I decided to put the new Assetto Corsa EVO to the test on CachyOS.

I ran the sim in one of the most demanding scenarios: Nordschleife on a crowded multiplayer server. My system is running Kernel 7.0 and Mesa 26.0.4. Even with an RX 6600 XT (8GB VRAM), the Valve optimization patches included in CachyOS did an amazing job at managing memory and keeping the gameplay at a smooth 60 FPS, without the stutters I was expecting.

In the video, I go over the CPU usage (Ryzen 7 5700X) and how KDE Plasma handles everything during the session. For anyone still wondering if Linux is ready for next-gen simulators, the results are looking very solid.

Is anyone else testing ACE on Linux? Have you run into any issues with peripherals or Force Feedback?

Hi everyone,

I’ve been with rFactor 2 since 2012. It was my main sim for years, but lately, like many of you, I’ve shifted my focus almost entirely to Le Mans Ultimate. However, looking at my library, I can’t help but wonder: what is the actual future of rF2?

Has it been officially sidelined, or is there still hope? I feel like the game still has so much potential, especially considering the massive amount of official licensed content we have—Indycar, GT3, GTE, Formula E, F3, F4, and more. It’s still a powerhouse of a simulator.

A few questions for the community:

  • Do you think we’ll ever see the multiplayer improvements and engine optimizations from LMU ported back to rF2?
  • Is there any chance of a revamped "Daily Race" system or official championships (like a Formula E series following the real-world calendar)?
  • Or should we just accept that LMU is the new priority and rF2 will slowly fade away?

It’s such a great alternative to everything else on the market that it feels like a waste to let it gather dust. What are your thoughts?
