I’ve owned a Mach-E for over 4 years now and figured I’d share some real-world ownership stuff you don’t always hear about.
Some random things that stood out:
• 12V battery — this was honestly one of the more annoying things early on. Not something I expected to think about on an EV. Replaced 4 times so far. First of which was my fault. The rest were not.
• Suspension — ride is definitely on the harsher side, especially on rough roads. Feels sportier than you’d expect, but not always in a good way.
• BlueCruise — when it works, it’s actually really nice for highway driving. But it’s not perfect and can be inconsistent depending on conditions.
• Cold weather range — the drop is real. Way more noticeable than I expected when temps get low. Thankfully don’t live somewhere that gets that cold.
• Phone as a key — cool idea, but not always reliable. There are moments where you’re just standing there waiting for it to connect. But also I’ll accept the slight lag sometimes for not having to carry keys around.
• Interior piano black — looks great in for about 5 minutes. Then it’s fingerprints and dust nonstop. Rest of the interior has held up great.
• Tires — one thing that surprised me… they actually don’t wear nearly as fast as people make it seem, even with the instant torque.
Overall it’s been a great daily, but definitely not perfect.
Curious if other Mach-E owners have had similar experiences?
I also made a full video going deeper into all of this if anyone’s interested:
