I got charged 120 U.S. dollars for two soccer jerseys, which turned out to be clearly fake afterwards. I’ll be honest, I understand I got caught out here — I should’ve been more careful and paid closer attention in the moment.

It stings a bit, but I’m trying to take it as a lesson rather than get upset about it. Is this kind of situation something that happens here from time to time, or did I just walk straight into a bad deal?

That said, I really want to say this clearly: Tunisia is an incredible country. The people I’ve met, the atmosphere, the coastline, and the energy in places like Hammamet are genuinely special. Even with this experience, it doesn’t change how much I’m enjoying being here and how much respect I have for the place.
