did anyone else notice the tunnel is... soft??🤔

ok so i was watching a video about coraline and i suddenly noticed the tunnel has soft walls. like actually soft and fleshy, not just a normal hallway.

and then i thought about the ending — when coraline slams the door the whole tunnel just... wobbles. and the beldam is screaming. and coraline gets thrown out.🫨

idk it immediately reminded me of a throat, or intestines, or — yeah — a birth canal. the whole other world feels like a womb honestly. coraline goes in, gets everything she wants, then can't stay anymore and gets forced out while the "mother" screams.

and like both worlds are completely controlled by mothers?? the dads are basically irrelevant in both. it just fits.

has anyone else thought about this or idk maybe i'm reading too much into it...🤔

and also...... i remember the book describes the tunnel as feeling "hot and wet, like she'd put her hand inside someone's mouth" — and it even moves, like it's breathing??

this made me think of how kids ask their moms where they came from, and when the mom says "you came from my belly," the kid will innocently go: "then why did you swallow me into your belly?"

anyway that's the spark that made me post this. if i got anything wrong please go easy on me lol
