What song stopped being “just a song” after someone you loved died?

My mom died from lung cancer after fighting for a year. The years after her death were messy and complicated, and my relationship with my dad never really recovered.

But music brings her back in a way nothing else can.

The song that reminds me most of her is “Hot in Herre” by Nelly. When it first came on the radio, she LOVED it. She only knew the chorus and would dance around the kitchen in the most aggressively mom way possible while singing half the lyrics wrong.

I heard it again today for the first time in years and it honestly wrecked me a little.

Funny how certain songs stop being songs and just become memories of people.

What song instantly reminds you of someone you lost?
