Biggest ouff :'( (rules mistake)
So... three campaign games done now. Everyone constantly liking most aspects of the game, but hating the terrible randomness.
Second to last turn of the third game's final act, and we notice that when surpassing, you only compare to lead card, not the previous card in the trick.
We didn't even think at first that it's such a big deal, but then we were like *mind blown* when we realized how much that changes about how we played the game and in particular how frustrating to have that made ~50-60% of the cards we got each act.
Ouff.
So suffice to say I withdraw whatever criticism I voiced before. Not only do I love the arc (heh) of the game's campaign mode, I think I don't mind the randomness, now that I realize it was only so punishing because of the rules mistake.
... it annoys me that it took us three campaigns to notice!
