There have been a lot of personal fundraisers in this community again lately. I thought we had a clear "no fundraising" rule?
I empathize that many of us are in a horrendous situation and financial dire straits due to this disease. I can understand that for many of us a fundraiser feels like the last resort.
But I've also seen time and again that there are unfortunately shameless grifters out there that prey on vulnerable communities like ours. Given that background, seeing personal fundraisers with little to no verifiable information makes me very uneasy.
I vote for either finding a way to reasonably check the veracity of fundraising campaigns that are posted here - or consistently enforcing the "no fundraising" rule. Most of us are in a difficult situation, and I would like to see our community protected from falling prey to scammers.
