So imagine this. The protagonist takes care of a house because the owner of the house hired him to.
The protagonist has one goal only, clean and mend the house.
At first, everything seems fine. The protagonist fixes faucets, clean laundry, repair holes, etc.
But then the simple task becomes a game of waiting. As time passes, the house slowly rots and becomes more damaged overtime. The power's up,the smell of decay starts to hit,and the floor groans whenever the protagonist steps on it.
The protagonist forgot how long he had been inside the house. The protagonist used to have many layers, thoughts, and much more. Now he only thinks of one thing, continuing the routine.
As more time passes, the house becomes more unlivable. The protagonist desperately tries to make sure the house stays fixed. He began to hallucinate. Hearing voices from the dark, seeing shadow figures across the corridors, and sometimes even hearing a car honking outside.
He continues repeating the same steps until eventually...he thinks of something.
What if the owner's never coming back?...
Then he slowly starts to think of himself, should he abandon the task and reach for the frontdoor, letting all of the time spent inside mending the house go to waste? Or should he continue mending the house, only because that's his only form of living now?
Idk what to do with the ending and hidden message tbh so it is up to interpretation.
This may be a good short horror film but what are your thoughts of this?
