Hey people, I'm a 26 year old cook relocating to Memphis for a few months starting next month. Here until November where I'm going to be working in a kitchen there and wanted to get a real feel for the city before I drop. I've done some research but stuff I see online are either about Beale Street or Graceland. Like I wanna know where people eat, where they spend their weekends and what parts of the city are worth exploring when I have a day off. Being a cook I'm curious about the food scene beyond the BBQ spots. I have money saved up so I'm not working with a tight budget but I'm also not trying to eat at tourist traps until I learn my lesson. Like places where people go out, places that arent dangerous and sketchy for a new guy. I'll only be there a few months but I want to experience the city not just pass through it. Appreciate anything you can throw my way.
