Hi everyone!
I need some help with incorrect readings from Type J thermocouples using the AI 8xRTD/TC 2‑wire HF_2 module.
The sensors are wired according to the manual, and I’m using A0 base units (so there is no internal cold junction measurement). However, the measured value is clearly wrong: I’m getting ‑31 °C when the actual temperature should be around 240 °C.
I believe the issue might be related to the fixed reference temperature parameter, which is set to 0 °C, but the problem is that TIA Portal does not allow me to change this value.
The other option I see would be to use one reference sensor per module, but I’m not fully sure how this should be configured in hardware and in TIA Portal.
