In my garden, I have a number of grass species present, but the most dominant is wall barley. It might not be that exact subspecies, but the jist is the same: smaller, wild relative of our beloved, cultivated barley. It grows in a fairly large area, and it made me think: can it be eaten? Or used for anything at all.

Obviously, the grains are considerably smaller than domesticated barley, but at the end of the day they're the same kina seeds, right?

Has anyone tried this? Could I just harvest it with a sickle like regular barley? I know that best case scenario, I'd be doing a lot of work for meager results, but I'm curious if it's even possible.
