Hi all.

Decided to try doing hydroponics in my aerogardens with my tap water this time around since filling gallons of water using my small fridge filter was a lot of work.

However, despite having the stickers over the sponges to block out light and not providing nutrients until a sprout was visible (like I did last time with the filtered water), algae grew rampant.

The only difference I can see is using tap water this time around. Last time, I didn’t get any algae.

Is this a reasonable conclusion? I just want an idea before I completely write off tap water and switch back to filtered.
