We’re starting a brand social media from the ground up. I see what other brands are doing and replicate. I have content pillars but my boss had other things in mind.
Admittedly my style when it comes to social is fast and loose. I believe volume and consistency over perfection is a great way to grow. I am inspired by brands like Squishmallows and Dr Seuss. I lead with entertainment and storytelling. My beliefs:
-Make engaging content
-Make content that shows off the product without feeling like an ad
-Make culturally relevant content when appropriate
-Get influencers and affiliates, cast a wide net of all types.
-Boost what’s working
My boss wants to a more straightforward narrative and monthly themes to feed the algorithm. Which is fair. Though he’s coming at it from an old school advertising perspective and is kind of out of touch on social. More sales driven than awareness. Affiliates and influencers have to have super specific niches, which of course limits the number.
He ran a workflow through Claude, which resulted in contradicting ideas, campaigns that felt more like advertisements, and siloed content. And now I’m left trying to make sense of antiquated ideas and turn it into something. It’s added more confusion and is making things more complicated than it needs to be.
Truthfully I see where he’s coming from on some of this. And I’m happy to be in the wrong and course correct. But if we’re not aligned and I’m just chasing what Claude wants, maybe I’m just getting set up for failure.
If anyone has advice or suggestions on how to navigate this weirdly specific situation, I’d love to hear.
I know there’s tickets in July but I’ll be visiting Chicago June 19-23. Figured I’d ask to see if anyone is looking to sell a pair or can’t go.
Client wants a very specific font for dynamic captions.
Does anyone know an app where you can upload custom fonts? Obviously Edits and CapCut have those but not the font I need. It’s annoying to have to do it all on editing software
Client also wants a border and logo on all videos. I feel like this will kill the brand and instantly make it look like an ad. How do I push back against this?
