Auxiliary battery wiring
During Covid I got a steal at the time on a 2011 Sprinter. Impulse bought it. Did the exchange late at night fight and “in a hurry”.
Built it out for moto/camping. Skipped a few crucial steps i think and its gave me issues since.
Wired up auxiliary battery. External Outlet. Connect to 5 amp trickle charger (think I could go bigger). Charger connected to auxiliary battery. Auxiliary battery is straight wired to 12v ceiling lights. Auxiliary battery also runs to Inverter. Inverter has 4 outlets which feed 2 wall mounted power Strips and mini fridge. Also…. Here’s where the issues come in. Had the auxiliary battery wired to the main battery. Separated by a dead man. Skipped the part about the fuse box and (going off memory), special charger between the 2.
Had all sorts of issues up front. Blown head lights. Alternator Wires Melting, etc. disconnected the wires between the 2 and it’s been solid since.
Looking for the correct way to do it cause I want to take advantage of it this summer.
Also want to install a roof ac only powered by generator. Get external outlet with 2 connections for charger and generator.
Idk. Just looking to finish it right! Diagrams. Parts links. Anything.
