Hi! I, 25, male, have decided it’s time. Several colds a year. Sometimes one a month. Strep twice this year already, I’ve had it at least 7 times past couple of years.

My family is in Houston but I live in NYC— how do I go about finding a surgeon? I have insurance until the end of the year when I turn 26 so I want to get it done sooner rather than later. It’ll probably be more expensive to travel to Houston for the surgery so it’ll likely be in NYC, but I have both options should I need it.

Any NYC doctor recs? Through my insurance I can see a specialist without a referral.

Any tips for scheduling? Bed time of year? How much time to take off to heal?
