So the shed that came with the house was, I believe, several decades old. It was kind of in disrepair but nothing too bad. I knew at some point i’d have to tix the door.

Wellllll COVID happened and then RTO happened and then before you know it i’ve been opening the door and throwing things in there and generally having a specific depressive block in place where the worse the shed got; the more I hated it.

But! I’m doing a little better now and throwing out bags of 7 year old fertilizer and filthy inflatable water toys purchased for a kid who, at the time, didn’t know about makeup tutorials and staying inside on an iPad.

The cladding is peeling away from the studs in several spots and there are some holes in the roof.

More concerning are the number of soft or fully rotted spots in the plywood floor.

It’s a 12x8 shed with a roughly 10’ gabled roof. I like having the loft storage space but it’s not super easy to access. The shed has power that seems like ol’ boy ran it himself and doesn’t “work”. Especially if it rained recently. Also the doorway is like 6 feet exactly.

All of which is to say, trash or fix? I could maybe just throw down new plywood over the old stuff and lose a half inch of vertical height inside. Replacing the cladding wouldn’t be super fun (it’s surrounded by holly bushes) but it’s probably doable. All of that would be cheaper than a new shed.

OTOH i assume the big box shed kits are decent? Or if there’s a brand of shed builder people like i’d love to see it.
