I’ve recently done the annual service on my car, when checking the results something caught my attention, my break pads and discs were less worn than last year and I haven’t changed them.

The percentage means how worn they are.

- 2025:

front pad 50% worn

front disc 65% worn

Rear pad 50% worn

Rear disc 50% worn

-2026

front pad 20% worn

front disc 30% worn

Rear pad 30% worn

Rear disc 40% worn

I asked the guy who’s taking care of me and he took the reports and brought to his manager, his manager goes “the guy who did the service in your car today was the technical lead and the guy who did last year doesn’t work here anymore, today’s report is right”

Last year the advice was to swap the front pads and discs, had I done that I’d have lost money.
