I just got off the Wish on my first ever cruise. My husband and two kids (3, 5) were with me. I need some advice here because when I got off that ship I felt like I would never step foot in a cruise ship again! I just thought cruises weren’t for me, but now that I’m looking through all of our pictures and videos I feel like we did have a good time and maybe I’d be willing to try it again. My kids had a blast and won’t stop talking about it!

We sailed on the wish and things didn’t go as planned. I didn’t expect the huge crowds, cramped spaces, and constantly standing in a line. We had a day at sea and I felt like I was ready to jump ship! Everything was so crowded we waited over an hour to meet one character, getting in the pools or aqua mouse was out of the question because it was packed. There weren’t as many activities offered as I was expecting and my kids didn’t like the kids club. I feel like we wasted the day trying to figure out something to do and then waiting in lines. We couldn’t even find any seating in the buffet areas and had to eat in our room.

Looking back there were some things we really loved! We LOVED lighthouse point and I would go back there in a heartbeat!! My kids played on the splash pad for over an hour. They also loved that this beach had great waves and enjoyed playing in those as well. I loved the layout and how spread out everything was so you felt like you had your own space. Junkanoo was amazing! Castaway Cay was nice but not as much to do for my kids there, we only stayed maybe 2 hours on the beach.

I loved our room, it felt like a hotel room and my kids loved looking out at the ocean. The food and rotational dining was fun but I’m not sure I’d want to do the same exact ones again. The shows and entertainment were great!

My main cons were the crowds and cramped spaces. I also didn’t love having to stick to a schedule for dining and shows, I wasn’t sure when my kids would be able to sleep! Things felt like they took too long but were also rushed at the same time. We were also a little bored on the day at sea which could have been solved by going in the pools but they were too crowded! I do also wish we had more time on the islands as the day felt short!

So am I just not a cruiser or should my family give this one more shot since we would go in knowing what to expect next time? We were told by multiple people our ship was at max capacity so I’m not sure if that’s the norm? We never did get refills at dinner on our drinks and one night they forgot to bring my cocktail, but I didn’t find this to be a deal breaker.
