Been in HSR for a while and it's been bugging me how much food gets thrown out at closing time across the layout. Cafes on 27th Main, restaurants in Sectors 1 through 7, cloud kitchens, tiffin centres, bakeries sealed pastries, cooked meals, cold brew that didn't sell, freshly prepped food that just didn't move. All of it going in the bin at the end of the day.
I'm actually building something to fix this: a simple way for restaurants and cafes here to sell their unsold inventory at a steep discount (₹75 to 150 for a mystery bag worth 2 to 3x that) instead of tossing it. Pick-up only, no delivery. The place confirms a "bag of the day" by 3 PM, you reserve it, collect before closing.
Before I go further, I want honest feedback from people who actually live here:
Would you bother picking up, or is the effort not worth the savings?
Does the "mystery bag" thing bother you, not knowing exactly what's inside?
Any concern about it being actual leftovers vs. unsold fresh inventory? (To be clear: sealed, never-touched food, not plate waste)
Which restaurant, cafe, or bakery in HSR do you think would be the best first partner?
