I love this game. I've put serious time into my main and the warplans progression has been one of the more engaging systems they've added in a while. But the moment I tried to roll an alt and experience the expansion on a different class, reality hit hard.
Starting warplans from zero — again — is not fun. It's not a "fresh experience." It's a slog you've already done, stripped of any sense of momentum or reward, because you know exactly what's ahead and how long it takes.
Every time I see someone in these threads say "just enjoy the journey, restarting is part of the fun!" I have to wonder: have you actually pushed deep into warplans on a main? Because once you're 60, 70, 80% through that progression and you understand the time investment that represents, the idea of doing it completely from scratch on a second character isn't charming — it's exhausting.
And here's the thing that kills me: this isn't even good for the game. Player retention on alts directly translates to more playtime, more engagement with the seasonal systems, and yes — more people buying cosmetics and battle passes because they're actually still playing.
A partial carry-over system wouldn't ruin the experience for anyone. Even 30–40% warplans progress transferring to alts — maybe scaling based on how far your main progressed — would make a massive difference. New players still get the full journey. Veteran players don't feel punished for wanting build variety.
I don't think this is a controversial ask. It's just sensible design. The people defending the current system either haven't hit the wall yet, or they only play one character. For everyone else, this expansion's alt experience is a genuine barrier, and it's one the devs could fix without breaking anything.
