helping my dad get his consulting thing off the ground and i keep seeing headlines about small business optimism dipping. NFIB index dropped to 95.8 in march. but then i read that 5.48 million new businesses formed last year alone? and 84% of owners said their 2025 performance met or exceeded expectations. so like, what gives people just ignoring the gloom and doing it anyway? or is the optimism index measuring something different.

my dads in his 60s and hes more excited than nervous tbh. maybe older founders are just built different. are you feeling the dip or are you just ignoring the news and grinding.
