I know I’m totally late to the AA party. I’ve been playing the game for 1,5 years, yet somehow I managed to avoid this route and never saw any of the scenes.

Now in this run, my Durge is on the embrace path and is slowly losing every ounce of kindness she had. Astarion is now a monk instead of the usual gloomstalker assassin, so I thought this would be the perfect time to ascend him and see it for myself.

Holy crap. I was stunned. The whole scene, the way Cazador was dealt with (by the way, his VA’s performance was absolutely amazing- those screams, dear god). Everything was brutally shocking.

I was prepared to be grossed out (I’ve read that he’s awful), but surprisingly, I’m not (?) Yes, he is evil, disgusting, and completely unredeemable at this point. No respect for anyone or anything. Toxic as hell. Yet I enjoy this.

I still prefer Spawn Astarion, but in this scenario, where my Durge is also just a maniacal little rabbit (credit to Yurgir), I really enjoy it. They’re definitely not getting a happy ending.
