Canadian here flying into Rome for the first time. I've got two days to hang before meeting my friend. Should I get a hotel or Airbnb?

Whereabouts should I look for a hotel or accommodations? How far away from everything is Leonardo da Vinci airport? Thank you in advance.

My travel dates are May 24th-June-10th
