Hi reddit! I'm Cara Cusumano.
I'm the Festival Director of the Tribeca Festival and SVP of Programming. I've been with Tribeca for 20 years, and I'm here to answer any of your questions :)
Here's a little bio/intro:
Cara Cusumano is the Tribeca Festival director and SVP of programming. Cara has been with Tribeca for 20 out of the 25 years since the festival began, and has been crucial in elevating the careers of Ryan Coogler, Damien Chazelle, Nia DaCosta, and more now-iconic filmmakers. The 2026 Tribeca Festival will take place from June 3-14 in New York City. Ask Cara about the film selections for this year, her favorite memories of the festival, which directors she has the best stories about, and more!
More about Tribeca:
The Tribeca Festival is an annual film festival. It takes place each spring in New York City, showcasing a diverse selection of film, episodic, talks, music, games, art, and immersive programming. The festival was founded by Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal, and Craig Hatkoff in 2002 to spur the economic and cultural revitalization of Lower Manhattan following the September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center.
The festival hosts over 600 screenings with approximately 150,000 attendees each year, and awards independent artists in 23 juried competitive categories.
AMA! I'll be back tomorrow (Tuesday 5/5) at 3 PM ET to answer your questions.
