Hey everyone! Looking for some guidance from those who’ve gone through this.
I’ve been practicing as an associate for about 3 years now and I’m starting to seriously think about buying a practice. From what I understand, the whole process can take anywhere from 6–12 months, so I want to get the ball rolling.
My main question is: what should the first step actually be?
Should I be talking to lenders first and getting pre-approved?
Or should I focus on reaching out to listings and brokers first? I’ve tried calling a few brokers tied to listings I found online, but honestly haven’t had much luck getting through or getting responses.
What’s the most effective way to start this process?
Is there an order of operations that worked well for you?
Anything you wish you did differently early on? Just trying to avoid spinning my wheels at the beginning here.
