I recently bought a new suit from a mid level store ($1,000 for the suit after discounts) and had the store tailor work on alterations. When I went to try on the suit after it was finished, it had multiple problems:
Jacket still needs work
Pants are about 1.5 inches too wide still
Pants are over 2 inches too short
The tailor only left about 2 inches of hem allowance which means all of it would go to fixing the length.
When I voiced my concern about having hem allowance for the future, the response I got was that these suits don’t shrink and not to worry, and they offered to sew some extra fabric on which I declined. Then they offered new pants in same color but different suit style. I declined.
They are now trying to find pants from the same style in another store now. Thoughts/advice?
