Just passed A+ core 1 but got 7 PBQs
Hi everyone, I just passed A+ core 1. I got 7 PBQs and I ended up spending much more than expected to re-read the scenarios, open/close/ navigate different windows and re-check all the components.
PBQ 1: Provide a desktop and BIOS information, ask you to check each component to find root cause and solution.
PBQ 2: About VoIP, provide a command line interface for entering command to retrieve network info, eg. IP, subnet mask etc, identity problem and provide solution in Part 2, which configure a switch using VLAN tagging, trunking knowledge.
PBQ 3: Replace RAID HDD, given a server with four HDD and ask to replace the drive to ensure the least amount of degraded performance. The tricky part is can't find the identical HDD in the dropdown list.
PBQ 4: Troubleshooting a network with duplicate IP address (DHCP)
PBQ 5: Distributing various devices between a surge protector, a UPS, and a wall outlet.
PBQ 6: Relocating WAPs and other electronic devices on a floor plan.
PBQ 7: Troubleshooting a laser printer.
Overall the PBQs are tricky and time-consuming that need to read the description of each component carefully and guess what the question want you to do. I made mistakes in most of the PBQs, but I hope this info helps with your preparation.
