Hello, I am a first-year MSW student planning to specialise in Medical and Psychiatry. We need to do a one month internship during our vacation. It is actually a block placement that usually comes during the 3rd semester, but our college has arranged it this way.
The problem is that I have not yet received proper classes on assessment and related subjects. The specialization classes will only begin after the vacation. In this situation, what would you recommend: doing the internship in a medical setting or a psychiatric setting?
Also, since I am from Kerala and currently pursuing my MSW in Tamil Nadu, which would be better for a starting experience doing the internship in my home state or outside Kerala? Please suggest.Thanks in advance
