Feeling Negative about a Deep Clean- What Should I Do?
Update: They are doing a reclean for my apartment now!
I recently got a one time deep clean done for my apartment and I genuinely can’t tell if I should say something or just let it go. It’s a really small studio apartment, under 600 sq ft, with a loft upstairs that acts as my living room. When booking, they didn’t have a studio option, so I booked it as a 1 bed/1 bath and explained the loft over the phone beforehand.
The clean ended up being around $375 total, plus extra add-ons in $25 increments for things like scrubbing the walls (I selected pretty much all add ons), cleaning out the stove, wiping cabinets, etc. So needless to say, I was expecting a pretty thorough clean.
I came home trying to stay positive, and some things definitely were done. They wiped the walls, cleaned out the stove, and the tub looks good. But then I started noticing a lot of stuff that either wasn’t done at all or looked completely missed. The cabinets weren’t wiped out, even the outside of the fridge still has marks on it, and the microwave wasn’t cleaned either. They also completely skipped the loft upstairs and was untouched, which I had specifically mentioned when booking.
At this point I honestly can’t tell if my expectations were too high for what a “deep clean” actually includes. I’m not trying to get anyone in trouble or demand perfection, but I do feel disappointed considering the price and the extras I paid for.
