Both processes continue running after closing the window, and still Copilot manages to act like it's a cold launch. I can open ChatGPT several times while the copilot app is still loading its useless interface.

Maybe it’s always been this way, I don’t know if MS even sees this subreddit, but I gotta say it:

I’m a Windows person through and through, and I love that Copilot exists. But it blows my mind that the ChatGPT app is faster than the Copilot app. What started as a simple, fast way to pop open Copilot has turned into this slow, bloated thing.

I work in software. I use AI constantly. Speed is everything. It’s the same reason Google crushed Yahoo and Altavista back in the day, fast, clean, straight to the point. Every search engine copied that formula.

Copilot has a shortcut, sure, but on a low‑end laptop or even a decent one it takes forever to open. It feels sluggish, loads a bunch of stuff I didn’t ask for, crashes often, and behaves inconsistently. It’s honestly upsetting to see Microsoft doing this to their own product.

I own a Surface Book 2, and a Surface Laptop 4. Both decent hardware, and in both the experience is just so lame. Alt+Space brings this pop up that takes some seconds to load. The goddamn thing is already in my taskbar, and still every time I type the shortcut, I can see this slow ass interface loading like it's chocking itself by simply opening. If you open the big mode, there is so much shit, recommendations and crap, it's like opening Bing.

Please de‑clutter Copilot. Goddammit. Stop overcrowding your shit Microsoft
