I recently watched a programme on the phycology of motorcycle riders, which basically summed up that we don’t ride IN SPITE of the danger, but BECAUSE of the danger. Not in a crazy way, but in a way that we feel we have some control over that danger, but it’s exactly that danger that makes you feel alive, when the rest of the world and daily life is numbing. I’ve ridden for 45 years, and never really thought of it like that, but it is the only time I feel genuine peace and enjoyment. ( picture is me when I was 10, on a bike my dad bought me, and I don’t think my mum has ever forgiven him for!) What’s your motivation for riding?
