Is it worth buying a car that needs its turbo fixed or replaced?
2016 1 Series with 99,300 miles, with full service history reports.
Cars being sold for £2500. The turbo needs to be replaced or fixed.
Fault codes are
123422 — Electric wastegate adaptation: start position closed not detected
120408 — Boost pressure control, disconnection: boost pressure generation blocked
Asked chat gpt and google Al, both are saying a replacement would at a worst cost £1500 and £250-500 best. On some websites the value of the car is coming up as £5,600+.
Is this a bargain or should I stay away.
