Ioniq 6 AWD vs RWD and 18" vs 20"

Heya,

If you are debating on which version to get I can give you my thoughts as someone who just bought a used first edition (AWD 20"). You'll probably have heard the basics already, 18" has better range, about 15% or so, and RWD also improves your range but AWD is more punch.

What you don't know is the feeling if you haven't driven one. If you use eco mode in an AWD it switches off the front motor so it is very similar to an RWD (apart from the weight). It's fine. It accelerates nicely, you can't complain. If you are not a person for adrenaline occasionally, it's the right car for you.

But going in sport on the AWD is a different world, it really catapults you forward. I'm a motor bike rider and honestly this feels very similar to my 100bhp Suzuki Vstrom 1000. It really launches you.

And while i didn't drive the 18" wheels I can tell you that the 20" feel like the car is clued to the ground. No swivelling, I could go through a roundabout at 50kmh and it was just plain amazing. Like a go kart on steroids. The ride is a little more harsh for sure, if your roads are not smooth.

I had been thinking about it excessively, but in the end, one drive was enough to make it clear that I want the fun of AWD 20" and I can live with the decrease in range.

If you want the car for range only and are not a person to accelerate quickly or feel the curves, the RWD 18" is totally fine.

But if you wanna grin over both ears, AWD 20" it is.

Heya! I've set my eyes on a used ioniq 6, available at a dealer near me. It's damage-free, top trim, my preferred color (blue-black), the whole package. The price is pretty good.

The catch is that it has 35k km and in the service book is no entry for the 30k service.

How important is this? Is that a deal breaker or an inconvenience that, when going in with open eyes, is OK?

Also, on another note, it's AWD with 20" wheels, I'm mostly going to commute on the highway with 130 kmh, pretty smooth traffic usuall. Can anyone tell me how many kwh/100km I should expect with that trim? I am debating this setup for fun, vs an RWD 18" wheeler for efficiency... I need to commute 250km in one leg. For winter tires I would assume I need them in addition, I guess I could use 18" then to make up for the winter range reduction? But 20" look better :D

Thanks!
