Genuine question from an outsider: is the entire tokamak instability suppression programme solving the wrong problem?
The Sun regulates fusion using plasma oscillation as a governor rather than suppressing it. Every tokamak instability suppression programme treats oscillation as the enemy. Has anyone formally asked whether plasma has natural rhythms that reactor engineering should synchronise with rather than fight?
