Today I had a conversation with someone here. We had a good initial chat, but when I mentioned that I am 39, the conversation suddenly stopped.
Later she was told,
“It feels weird talking to someone your age because many creeps are here.”
Honestly, this made me think.
We are all strangers on these apps in the beginning. How can someone judge a person completely just based on age without even having a proper conversation? A person’s behavior, respect, and intentions matter more than a number.
If someone is not comfortable talking, that is completely okay. Everyone has their own preferences, and they should be respected. But I feel people should also communicate politely instead of making assumptions or indirectly insulting someone they don’t even know.
I believe age should not decide whether someone can have a good conversation, friendship, or genuine company. Maturity, respect, and understanding matter much more.
I am here only for decent conversations and genuine connections. If someone is not interested, a simple “sorry, not comfortable” is enough and completely understandable.
