I’m looking for anime recommendations that have a deep, clever story.
I don't mind "weird" concepts or superhuman elements (similar to the quirks in My Hero Academia or the hero system in One Punch Man), but I want to strictly avoid the supernatural, spiritistic, or magical.
The Rules:
No Magic: No witches, sorcerers, demons, or mystical spirits.
Sci-Fi/Tech/Biological is OK: If the "powers" come from technology, science, or biological mutations, that's perfect.
Story Focus: I want something with smart writing, observant storytelling, and a bit of mystery or clever humor.
Violence: It’s fine if it’s there, but I don’t want it to be the sole focus of the show. I prefer a "prestige drama" or mystery feel.
No Animal Protags: I'm looking for human-centric stories.
