I am freshly caught up fan, but Blue lock is already in my top 3 manga of all time. And the whole time reading BL, I couldn't shake this feeling.
Despite Blue Lock being a football story, you can feel the actual shonen edge to it. You could imagine these characters in an actual shonen like JJK or similar stories. The level of intensity, the forshadowing of characters wanting to destroy/kill each other is overwhelming.
I think nobody expects this from a sports manga, but as certainly as we will see Chigiri shatter his leg completely to the point where he will be on wheelchair for the rest of his life - i fully expect some characters to not make it out in the end and sacrifice their life for their dream. It would most likely be an accident of course, but you cannot tell me this story doesn't give you this intense feeling like the characters have their life on the line. There will be a price for trying to become #1, and since we all know it is going to be Isagi at the end and since Rin would literally rather die than not being the best striker in the world - I fully expect that the last insane motivation for Isagi will be his rival/team mate dying for Blue lock to win the World Cup.
What do yall think? Does Kaneshiro has it in him to be this intense? If not Rin then who?
