I lost my job last week. The program was on a 3 acre property and we’ve had a small feral colony since I started working there. we were feeding the cats on the property until a new director came on back in October and said we couldn’t feed cats anymore because they were a liability they carried diseases, etc. etc.

I basically ignored her and continued to feed them, but I was written up for it so I started feeding them on the other side of the fence which is county Property no ordinances restricting that, and there was already a hole underneath the fence. so every morning before work I would feed them and every evening after I left I would feed them again. two of the mom’s were pregnant so I made it my goal to get everybody TNR as soon as they had the kittens . It was just a matter of getting appointments . I have six appointments next week for spay neuter and two more at the end of the month I also have a rescue that’s willing to take the kittens once I get them. The two moms did have a litter one litter is about six weeks old right now the other litter we had not seen yet but I estimate they should be around four weeks old. My last day was last Tuesday. I did notice the older kittens on Sunday when I went to feed however, they’re on the property. They won’t allow me back on the property to set any traps. My fear is where I’m feeding is also close to the road although it’s a country road it’s still well traveled. when I went on Sunday to feed There was a gigantic vulture hanging out and even though I had to stick with me, he wasn’t in too much of a hurry to run away, he kept his distance, but as soon as I moved back, he followed clearly, after the food. Hawks are also circling, so I’m afraid if the kittens come out from the protection of the shed, that’s on the property, which is basically where they’re hanging out, there’s more risk of them getting smashed in the road or being prey to something. I wasn’t let go for anything serious but because I’m no longer an employee they see it as a liability if they allow me back on the property and I guess their fear is because I was let go I would sue them. Should I just set a bunch of traps and take my chances hopefully get some kittens? I know I’ll get the adults because they’re exceptionally food motivated.

They also won’t allow anybody from the rescue on the property.
