Help! Is it just me or are these giving bunny vibes, not horse?

1st pic: shaped Worbla base
2nd: Ears on small foam head.
3rd: Ears on me
4th: Testing Minky

Should I try to covering them in minky or felt instead? I can’t really shave the fur closer with the tools I have, and not expose the fabric back.

Any tips on how to make them read “horse” are appreciated!

Thank you all for the suggestions! Thankfully, the attachment is magnetic, so I can easily position them further apart and rotate forward, which does really help!

I also tried a different fur type (purple is Howl lavender beaver, orange is Sweet Potato Teddy) as well as shaving closely before putting the fur on the base, and it think it helps give them a less “fuzzy” look.
