Had new turf laid about 8 weeks ago and followed the landscaper’s instructions for establishment. I’m now watering with a sprinkler twice a week for around 30 minutes when there’s no rain. The soil is London clay.
Lately I’ve noticed some patches turning a lighter green, with a few yellow bits coming through. I’m aware the larger burn patches are from foxes passing through at night, but I’m more concerned about the general colour change across the lawn.
Does this sound like overwatering or underwatering? How can you tell the difference based on the colour/appearance of the grass? Any advice on adjusting watering for clay soil would be really appreciated. Or feel free to say I’m overthinking it…
